There are several tours available throughout Vietnam, including the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail which is recommended for cycling along. Some tours last anything from a couple of days to a longer five to ten days. They range in the level of difficulty so trekking tours will suit people of all fitness levels and ages. In Sapa, the frontier town in North West Vietnam there are many tours, including Victoria Sapa which departs from Hanoi and lasts four days and four nights. The tour involves trips through breath taking landscapes and visits to local villages. Vietnam is home to 54 different ethnic groups and many people visit in order to experience and take in the different cultures of Vietnam`s ethnic minorities. There is a popular Sapa minority trek and market which is 5 days and 5 nights, this specific tour first treks through the Black H`Mong village in Lao Chi, Black H`Mong is one of the largest minority groups in the Sapa. There are opportunities to experience the colourful!  Sapa market where women from various ethnic minorities travel into main town in order to sell their products. During the market trips there is plenty opportunity to purchase handmade goods.

Trekking is an enjoyable and eco-friendly way to explore a new environment and take in a new culture, however it is important to take in to consideration the environment and terrain in which you will be spending a good portion of your time. It is important to be comfortable and well prepared for trekking and activity holidays. When planning a trip to Sapa, it's important to remember to carry warm layers, sturdy shoes or boots, a raincoat, and, if you're there in the summer, a swimsuit. A basic first aid kit, together with a flashlight and any necessary prescriptions, should be packed. Don't go home without your camera.
